To promote the industrial applications of remote sensing, Geographic Information System and Global Positioning System technology in transport industry, China Highway Engineering Consulting Group Company Ltd., Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and The Heilongjiang Geomatics Industrial Park Co., Ltd.belong to Heilongjiang Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, focus on their resources, co-founded China Trans Geomatics Co.,Ltd.
China Trans is mainly engaged in high-tech applications of surveying and mapping, GIS extension services, software product development of remote sensing and spatial information technology-related, remote sensing data services. China Trans mainly undertakes the synthetic application engineering in the transport industry-oriented and is supplemented by other fields of domestic and abroad markets related to remote sensing, GIS and GPS.
China Trans sets up Traffic Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Technology Joint Laboratory with Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences and universities via a good cooperation mechanism. The task of the lab is to initiate the researches on applications of spatial information technology in the transportation industry. China Trans has accomplished some achievements, such as Lidar Data Processing methods, Geographic Information Platform for Road Traffic, Traffic Remote Sensing Image Analysis System, road engineering feasibility analysis, highway design, maintenance, construction administration, operation management, and etc. based on visualization technique.
China Trans has carried out highway design applications in Wenchuan earthquake reconstruction, Chongqing, Xinjiang, Guizhou, Tibet and other districts, and integrated business such as construction of Highway Maintenance System in Xinjiang, Hainan, and etc, consulting for highway design and construction technique, and post-service. China Trans promotes spatial information technology in transportation industry, and has gained good economic and social benefits.
